Job Description Job Description We are looking for an
experienced Financial Controller to oversee financial operations in
a dynamic manufacturing environment in Hampton Roads. In this role,
you will lead key financial processes, ensure compliance with
regulations, and provide critical insights to support operational
and strategic decisions. This position requires a blend of
technical expertise and leadership skills to drive efficiency and
accuracy across all financial functions. Responsibilities: • Manage
and maintain the general ledger, including accounts payable,
accounts receivable, cash flow, and account reconciliations. •
Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close
processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. • Lead cost
accounting efforts, including analyzing bills of materials, labor
costs, overhead rates, and variances. • Administer inventory
valuation and control processes for raw materials,
work-in-progress, and finished goods. • Prepare and review
comprehensive financial statements and management reports. •
Partner with plant operations teams to evaluate production costs,
margins, and overall performance. • Drive continuous improvement
initiatives in financial reporting, systems, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with audits, tax regulations, and other
financial requirements. • Supervise and mentor a small accounting
team, fostering growth and development with attention to detail. •
Collaborate with HR and Payroll departments to ensure accurate
financial entries and reconciliations. • Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. • Extensive
experience in manufacturing or plant-level accounting. •
Proficiency in cost accounting and inventory management within a
manufacturing setting. • Strong leadership capabilities with prior
supervisory experience. • Advanced proficiency in financial
software systems, such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics, and Excel. •
Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a focus on
accuracy and detail. • Effective communication skills to
collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership. • Knowledge
of corporate tax compliance and financial auditing procedures.
