G Job Duties The Technical Assistance Specialist plays a vital role
in supporting the successful operation, data integrity, and
regulatory compliance of the Early Hearing Detection and
Intervention Information System (EHDI-IS). This position provides
essential administrative and technical support to stakeholders and
providers involved in congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV) and newborn
hearing screening services, ensuring alignment with the Code of
Virginia requirements. Minimum Qualifications Extensive knowledge
in program administration, service delivery, reporting, and quality
assurance practices to support compliance and effective statewide
operations. Extensive knowledge in collecting, entering,
validating, and analyzing program data; ensure accuracy and
integrity of information; and produce reports to inform program
decisions and federal reporting requirements. Demonstrated skills
in identifying, investigating, and resolving data, system, and
operational issues, providing recommendations to enhance program
workflows and system functionality. Proven experience in technical
assistance, training, and guidance to stakeholders; respond to
inquiries professionally and timely; and communicate complex
information clearly in oral and written formats. Demonstrated
ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, maintain
documentation, and work independently or as part of a team to meet
program objectives. Additional Considerations Public health
experience Ability to identify data trends, detect errors, and
propose solutions for process improvements or system enhancements.
Preferred experience in electronic health record systems, databases
(like VISITS), Microsoft Office Suite, and web-based communication
tools. Ability to learn new software and troubleshoot system
issues. Experience interpreting and communicating clinical
information to families and healthcare providers professionally.
