Job Description Job Description Job Title: New Hire Utility Job Description This role involves learning to operate equipment associated with extrusion or tube mill processes, and handling aluminum products. Candidates will start as Utility employees and will be trained to operate, support, and move materials on and off machines using lifting techniques and hoists. Responsibilities Operate and assist in the operation of extrusion or casting equipment. Ensure all quality objectives are met and report any unusual conditions to the lead operator or supervisors. Work within a team to meet daily production goals. Adhere to safe job practices and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Be flexible and willing to work in various roles and departments as needed. Engage in continuous learning and cross-training across departments. Essential Skills 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing or production. Experience in machine operation, quality control, and production support. Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work flexible shifts including 2nd or 3rd shifts, weekends, and up to 12-hour shifts. Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs with assistance and work around motorized equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Mechanical aptitude and experience in a production environment. Familiarity with tools and processes in manufacturing environments. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a non-climate-controlled environment that can be loud due to machinery. The facility is open and spacious but may experience high temperatures. Shifts are typically 8 hours with potential for 10-hour days and work 6 days a week, including weekends. Candidates must be comfortable working with grease, oil, and other lubricants. The facility features both new robotic equipment and older, complex machinery. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chesterfield, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.31 - $20.31/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
