This facility is a level 3 security men's state prison. There is also a low-security work center on site.Correctional LPN Job Details:Pay Rate: $1,168 to $1,368 per weekSchedule: 8a 8:30pAvailable Shift: Days, 3 shifts per weekStart Date: Two weeks of offerLocated In: Burkeville, VirginiaRequirements: Qualified applicants MUST have at least 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a corrections or similar setting, have a valid LPN license and be willing to obtain VA and/or compact licensure.As a Licensed Practical Nurse in a correctional care setting, youll play a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, promoting their well-being and rehabilitation. This position works in partnership with a team of correctional staff and allows you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients. Responsibilities include:Provide basic nursing care to patients under the supervision on RNs or physicians.Monitoring patients vitals and symptomsadministering medication and treatments according to physician orders and established protocolsAdminister medications and injections as prescribed by a physician and monitor for adverse reactions to medicationsResponding to medical emergencies and providing immediate interventions as neededDocumenting all patient interactions, treatments, and observations accurately and timelyEducating patients on self-care techniques and promoting health education within the correctional facilityCorrectional care positions can often offer healthcare professionals more independence in how they practice and the ability to grow professionally.
