Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/10/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU night shift position requiring a VA or compact RN license and strong neonatal assessment skills. Responsibilities - Work in a 10-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit - Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with every other weekend and major holiday required - Patient population includes neonates from 28 weeks gestation and up; surgical and high-frequency ventilation cases not included - Procedures include bubble CPAP, ventilator management, umbilical lines, peripheral IVs, arterial sticks, peripheral blood draws, heel sticks, and neonatal resuscitation - Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps, Medfusion pumps, bubble CPAP, and Puritan Bennett ventilators - Epic EMR is used - May be required to float within the New Life Center or to other NICU units - Possible on-call requirement up to 24 hours within a 6-week period - Provide comprehensive assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation for NICU patients - Collaborate with an interprofessional team to ensure optimal neonatal care outcomes - Strong assessment and neonatal resuscitation skills are necessary for this position - Holiday and every other weekend coverage is mandatory - First time travelers are not specifically excluded - Scrub color or dress code details not specified Requirements - Active VA or compact RN license required - Minimum of 3 years current NICU RN experience required - BLS and NRP certifications required - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred - Must provide proof of address for compliance with a 50-mile radius rule; locals not accepted - Pass/fail EKG testing required on the first day with two attempts permitted Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627722.
