Overview As a Locum Nurse Practitioner in General Medicine VA, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to our Veterans. You will conduct assessments, provide consultations, and support the healthcare needs of those who have served our country. Required Skills Current certification and licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice Experience in general medicine or primary care settings Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work independently and adhere to VA clinical protocols Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems Nice to Have Skills Previous experience working with Veterans or in a VA setting Certification in specific areas such as family practice or internal medicine Ability to perform physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing Knowledge of VA regulations and procedures Preferred Education and Experience Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited institution A minimum of 2 years of clinical practice as a Nurse Practitioner in a general medicine or primary care setting Prior experience working in a government or VA healthcare environment Other Requirements Ownership of a personal or private office location; providers must have their own practice setup Willingness to perform onsite assessments at designated VA locations in Coeburn, Covington, Hillsville, and Charlottesville, VA Ability to work PRN hours, including days, with flexible scheduling options (½ or full days) Credentialing completion and onboarding, with quick process expected No reimbursement provided for licensure, certifications, travel, or portal training fees This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to veteran healthcare while enjoying competitive pay of $402 per hour, weekly direct deposit, and comprehensive benefits.
