An opportunity is available for a seasoned registered nurse with expertise in cardiac telemetry and stepdown care, specializing in patients recovering from cardiac surgery. This role involves providing critical post-ICU care in a cardiovascular unit focused on managing chest tubes and dysrhythmias. Location: Woodbridge, VA offers a blend of suburban comfort and urban access, with nearby parks, shopping centers, and dining options. The community provides a peaceful setting while being conveniently close to major highways and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver specialized nursing care for cardiovascular surgery patients in a telemetry/stepdown setting. - Monitor and manage chest tubes and dysrhythmia in post-ICU cardiac patients. - Utilize EPIC clinical documentation systems effectively post-training. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. - Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including infection control and safety protocols. Qualifications: - Active Virginia or Compact Registered Nurse license required. - BLS and ACLS certifications mandatory. - Minimum of two years of RN experience, with strong background in cardiac tele/stepdown nursing. - Skilled in managing chest tubes and cardiac dysrhythmias. - Experience with cardiovascular surgery and telemetry patients preferred. - Willingness and ability to complete relevant EPIC clinical documentation training. Schedule: - Night shifts, 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM). - Every other weekend work schedule. Contract Duration: - 13-week assignment with an ASAP start date, contingent on EPIC training schedule.
