Job Description Job Description Overview The Work: The
Occupational Therapist should perform services in accordance with
Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and
American Medical Association (AMA) standards. The therapist will
provide treatments and interventions to increase the safety and
independence of their patients' desired activities of daily living
and functional mobility. This position performs all duties and
responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core
Values of Cayuse. Flexible Contract Opportunity – 1099 Independent
Contractor We are seeking providers for a flexible contract
opportunity with zero long-term commitment. Here's what you can
expect: Advance Scheduling : Coverage requests will be communicated
well in advance. There will be no last-minute, same-day phone calls
or rush requests. You will have ample time to review and determine
your availability for the requested dates or periods of work.
Complete Flexibility : As a 1099 independent contractor, you have
the freedom to decide when and if you'd like to work. There is no
obligation to commit to specific days or shifts — you work on your
terms, only when you're available. This opportunity is ideal for

work arrangements with minimal commitments. Responsibilities Key
Responsibilities: Evaluate patients' conditions by reviewing their
medical history, interviewing them, and observing various tasks.
Develop and implement treatment plans that have specific activities
to help patients work toward their goals. Help patients re-learn
and perform daily living tasks, Demonstrate exercises, for example,
stretching the joints for arthritis relief—to help relieve
patients' pain. Maintain and record patients' activities and
progress for patient evaluations. Adjust treatment plans to reflect
changes. Abide by all Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability (HIPAA) regulations. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Qualifications – Here’s What You Need: Graduated
from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program. Successfully
completed the clinical affiliation requirements prescribed by the
school, as well as the National Board for Certification in
Occupational Therapy and maintains certification in the (NBCOT).
Must have at least two (2) years of professional occupational
therapy experience, in the field of geriatrics. Must possess a
valid and current license in the District of Columbia. Active CPR
Certification (BLS). Required vaccinations/examination: COVID-19
Influenza. PPD-Tuberculosis. Td/Tdap Must be able to pass a
background check. May require additional background checks as
required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
Minimum Skills Required: Must possess problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written Ability to
respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency.
Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word,
PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc. Highly motivated with the ability to
handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time. Ability to forge
new relationships, individual and teaming in nature. Must be a
Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.
Reports to: Director of Rehabilitation Services Working Conditions:
This position is an on-call on an as needed basis. Independent
Contractor assignments are not guaranteed for any length of time
and hours may vary. Professional clinic setting. Ability work
Monday-Friday 7:30A.M to 4:00PM. On-site parking available. May be
asked to work hours outside of normal business hours. May be asked
to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays. Must be
physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of
time. Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools
with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position. Must be
able to establish a productive and professional workspace. Must be
able to sit or stand for long periods of time. May be asked to
travel for business or professional development purposes. Visual
acuity to perform job duties, including visual examination of
patient and reading information from printed sources and computer
screens. Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up
to 30 pounds unassisted, including assisting patients when
required. Physical ability includes sufficient manual dexterity to
perform the requisite health care service. Requires frequent
bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking,
squatting, and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and
pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift. May be
exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, medicinal
preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
