Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Telemetry Location: Farmville, VA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,984 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/7/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical - Surgical (Telemetry) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Prior travel experience required License: Active compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale preferred Must-Have: Ability to read telemetry strips and ortho experience Description: This role involves replacing a medical-surgical RN. The position requires a registered nurse with experience in telemetry and medical-surgical settings. RNs will need to float occasionally to the ICU for overflow patients. Candidates must have BLS certification, and ACLS and NIHSS are preferred. Experience with electronic medical records, specifically Cerner, is preferred. No drips are administered on this unit, and titrated heparin infusion is rare. Dialysis is performed on the floor by dialysis nurses. There are no pediatric patients in this unit. Patients may have central lines, and there is a nurse-driven Foley removal protocol. Registered nurses are responsible for administering MDIs (inhalers). The unit maintains patients on CPAP or BiPAP, and RNs may assist patients in placing masks and starting the devices. There is no IV team, and the iceman is used for hip and knee total joints. Nurses manage wound vacs, accuchecks, and respiratory treatments. All team members, including travelers, are expected to contribute to a supportive culture. We anticipate regular interaction with students and new hires. Please note that the organization reserves the right to cancel assignments based on census.
