Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization
in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a dedicated
Clinical Pharmacist for the evening shift. This role requires a
proactive approach to medication management, patient safety, and
promotes the effective use of resources at our facilities. Our
Clinical Pharmacists are vital to our commitment to providing
top-tier health services, encompassing everything from primary care
to advanced surgical procedures. In this position, you will
directly impact patient outcomes and wellbeing through the precise
and vigilant handling of medication therapy and interventions.
Review prescriptions to assure accuracy, to ascertain needed
ingredients, and to evaluate their suitability for the patient.
Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side
effects, dosage, and proper medication storage. Assess the results
of pharmaceutical treatments to improve the health and safety of
patients. Manage and optimize the medication therapy of individual
patients. Participate in patient care rounds with
multi-disciplinary teams. Documentation and maintenance of accurate
records. Mentor pharmacy students and residents. Strong knowledge
of drug interactions and pharmaceutical chemistry. Ability to work
independently as well as part of a team. Excellent communication
and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, healthcare
providers, and staff. Proficiency in utilizing pharmaceutical
technology and software. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision
Insurance Valid and active Pharmacist license in the state of
Maryland, Virginia, or Washington D.C. Board Certification in
Pharmacotherapy or relevant specialty is preferred.
