MedStar Health, a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is seeking a dedicated Emergency Vehicle Operator/EMT Transport to join our emergency services team. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients requiring emergency medical attention. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating emergency response vehicles in compliance with all safety regulations and providing basic emergency medical care as required. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-caliber team dedicated to delivering patient-first care in challenging, fast-paced situations. Safely operate emergency vehicles during both non-emergency and emergency scenarios. Assess the medical condition of patients and provide basic life support including CPR, bleeding control, and airway management. Adhere to strict hygiene and safety protocols. Document and report patient information accurately and confidentially. Maintain emergency vehicles to ensure they are operational and equipped with necessary medical supplies. Collaborate with healthcare professionals and emergency services teams to ensure optimal patient care. Proficient in driving emergency vehicles Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong ability to assess and handle medical emergencies Detail-oriented in documentation and reporting Medical Insurance Valid Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) certification Certified EMT-Basic or higher
