Job Description Job Description Description: Seeking a dedicated
Electro-Optic Support Specialist to provide hands-on technical
support at the EOSF in MCSC Quantico. This key personnel role
focuses on testing, maintenance, and operational support for
optical systems, supporting quarterly testing requirements (two
systems per quarter with multiple tests). The position ensures
facility readiness, inventory accuracy, and compliance with DoD
standards in a secure environment. Key Responsibilities
Electro-Optical System Testing and Surveillance : Perform testing,
surveillance, and troubleshooting of day optical systems, image
intensification systems, laser systems, and thermal systems.
Maintenance and Upkeep : Conduct maintenance management and test
equipment upkeep to maintain operational integrity. Test
Development : Assist in developing test plans and methods for
optical systems. Inventory and Accountability : Maintain inventory
control and proper accountability documentation for all EOSF
equipment. Data Analysis and Evaluations : Provide technical
analysis of test results, process data, and participate in limited
user evaluations. Logistics Support : Support government shipping
of equipment to/from EOSF, ensuring secure handling. SOP Compliance
: Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the EOSF are
maintained, updated, and followed. Quarterly Output : Support
testing of approximately two systems every quarter, each involving
several tests. Requirements: Required Skills & Experience Education
: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Optics,
Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent
experience). Experience : 3 years in electro-optical systems
support, including testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Hands-on work with optical technologies (day optics, I2, lasers,
thermals). Experience in inventory management and test plan
development in DoD settings. Skills and Competencies : Technical
proficiency in system testing and data processing. Strong attention
to detail for accountability and SOP adherence. Ability to handle
physical equipment and logistics tasks. Certifications : Relevant
technical certifications (e.g., in optics or electronics).
