Director, Enterprise Architecture As an Director, Enterprise
Architecture at Capital One, you will be leading a team of 5
solution architects, working with software and data engineering
teams, guiding architecture of associate-facing banking products;
owning and facilitating architecture development; establishing
destination-backed architecture strategy, reviewing architecture;
providing feedback on application designs; providing input on
company-wide initiatives; establishing patterns and practices for
onboarding emerging technology, embedding in engineering teams to
jump start complex projects; and helping raise the talent bar by
recruiting and hiring top engineering talent. You will also work
with product owners to articulate benefits of proposed solutions;
influence the technical roadmap of enterprise platforms; and help
business prioritize work. If this sounds exciting, the Enterprise
Architect role could be for you! The Director, Enterprise
Architecture will drive technology strategy and adoption. In this
role, the architect will help define and drive towards an end state
that is based on simplicity and the adoption of digital
technologies, cloud hosting, and enterprise platforms open source
software. The person we’re looking for: Be passionate about
technology and architecture discipline. Have depth and breadth of
knowledge across multiple software engineering disciplines. Desire
to continually learn about new, emerging technologies. Be
self-driven, actively look for ways to contribute, and knows how to
get things done. Be hands-on with Cloud Native Architectures, in
particular architecting enterprise applications on public cloud
such as AWS, GCP or Azure. Believe in “you build it, you own it”
software development model, that good software development includes
good testing, resiliency, monitoring, documentation, and
collaboration. Have excellent communication and reasoning skills,
including the ability to make a strong case for technology choices.
Have ability to build consensus and iteratively improve solutions.
Firmly believe in leading by influence and by adding value. Basic
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree At least 7 years of experience
with enterprise architecture, software architecture, and design
patterns At least 5 years of people management experience At least
3 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure,
Google Cloud) Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree 10 years of
experience of working with business leaders on the implications of
architectural decisions 5 years of experience with complex
architectural patterns (SOA), building APIs, microservices, and
event streams 5 years experience with DevOps or DevSecOps and
building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Artifactory, Chef, Ansible,
AWS CloudFormation templates, GitHub, and Sonar Capital One will

annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please
note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to
perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the
amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed
upon number of hours to be regularly worked. McLean, VA: $269,100 -
$307,200 for Director, Enterprise Arch Plano, TX: $244,700 -
$279,200 for Director, Enterprise Arch Richmond, VA: $244,700 -
$279,200 for Director, Enterprise Arch Candidates hired to work in
other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with
that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to
any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the
candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn
performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash
bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be
discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan. Capital
