Job Description:
In this role you will have the opportunity to build the next
generation of building system networks across over 600 buildings
worldwide. We want to build smarter and more reliable buildings
while setting a new global standard for operational technology
cybersecurity through segmentation and software defined networks.
Our mission is to design, deploy, and support networks that sets
the global standard for performance, availability, security and
cost, enabling global facility operations to exceptional workplace
experiences to our builders. We are looking for a Network
Development Engineer (NDE) to create next-generation network
systems and architectures that support our operational and IoT
technologies. The team is focused on automating networks from
multiple diverse vendors and maximizing reliability while
minimizing human touch in deployment and maintenance activities. We
partner closely with IT support teams to ensure that simplicity in
our network system designs translate to supportability in the
field. Information security rigor is at the core of everything we
do. You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and
have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at
Amazon in different locations. You should be comfortable with a
high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems
that haven't been solved at scale before. It is expected that you
will be technically innovative, while at the same time balancing

Key job responsibilities The right candidate will have demonstrated
experience leading large projects and have an expert level
technical background in current networking technologies. The focus
will be to develop, deploy, and maintain a standardized building
network schema for all Amazon occupied locations (500 locations
globally). This will involve working with onsite building engineers
as well as developing cloud solutions to be able to monitor and
connect these buildings across Amazon’s entire building portfolio.
You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial
environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing
priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive
high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your
sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a NDE, you will anticipate
bottlenecks, influence external vendors and internal team roadmaps,
provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and
balance the business needs versus technical constraints. About the
team The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) Tech team, part
of Finance Automation, develops services, products, and tools to
enable Amazon's corporate real estate team to build and operate the
company's global facilities in more than 60 countries, which is the
largest corporate real estate footprint in the world. We develop
building systems that deliver a seamless, adaptive, and creative
workspace experience to more than half a million employees. Our
mission is to create technology that simplifies the processes
Amazon employs to manage its corporate real estate. Our teams build
services and products that support various GREF domains, including
space and occupancy planning, design and construction, employee
health and safety, sustainability, and building management systems
requiring IoT expertise. If you possess the skills to build,
operate, and scale the next generation of distributed systems
supporting Amazon's growth, this role may be well-suited for you -
3 years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or
Perl experience - 5 years of major internet routing protocols
experience - 5 years of working in a Linux/Unix environment
experience - Experience with AWS and AWS networking products - CEH
(Certified Ethical Hacker) or CFR (CyberSec First Responder) or
Cloud or GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) or
SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner) - Thorough
understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load
Balancing, and Network Security architecture and core technologies
such as IP, TCP, OSPF/IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, Server Load Balancers,
Firewalls, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, LDAP, NFS, etc. - Experience with
CDK pipelines, SDNs, Layer 2 Segmentation (VLANs), and Layer 3
Segmentation (VRF) - Experience working with OT, ICS, IoT, IIoT,
BMS, SCADA, and/or PLCs - Experience with Armis, LoRa, STP, BACNet,

this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include
sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final
compensation will be determined based on factors including
experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers
