Job Description:
Clean Harbors is seeking a dedicated Vacuum Truck Route Driver
who will be responsible for operating vacuum trucks over
established routes to safely collect, transport, and dispose of
hazardous and non-hazardous waste. As part of the front-line staff,
this role plays an integral part in maintaining environmental
compliance and achieving our mission of ensuring a sustainable,
safe, and clean environment. Operate vacuum trucks and equipment
with precision and safety on assigned routes. Perform pre- and
post-trip inspections to ensure safety and compliance with
regulatory requirements. Safely load and unload hazardous and
non-hazardous waste materials at designated facilities. Maintain
accurate and up-to-date logbooks, vehicle maintenance records, and
compliance paperwork. Adhere strictly to government regulations and
Clean Harbors policies regarding waste disposal procedures and
safety protocols. Establish and maintain good communication with
dispatchers and supervisors to update on route status. Assist in
the analysis and review of disposal options to ensure
environment-friendly and cost-effective waste solutions. Provide
exemplary service to clients and assist with on-site emergencies if
necessary. Proficient in operating heavy equipment, specifically
vacuum trucks. Strong understanding of DOT and EPA regulations
regarding hazardous materials handling. Excellent driving and
safety record. Ability to work independently and navigate routes
effectively. Good physical condition to perform manual labor,
including lifting, bending, and long periods of driving. Effective
communication and team collaboration skills. Medical Insurance
Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid Class A
or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Tanker Endorsement.
OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER)
certification (preferably 40-hour course).
