Physician Assistant | Surgery - Cardiothoracic Location: Washington Employer: Lancesoft Inc Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position We are seeking two experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery APPs (PA/NP) to join a high-acuity inpatient cardiothoracic surgery service in Tacoma, Washington , starting ASAP pending credentialing . This is a robust, hands-on role supporting a busy surgical team, with staff retirement driving the need. ?? Strong thoracic and robotic experience is required — this is a dealbreaker for candidates without it. Position Overview Setting: Inpatient FTE: 1.0 Start: ASAP (credentialing ~90 days) EMR: Epic ??? Support Staff: RN ??? Team Structure: • 5 permanent surgeons (3 cardiac, 2 thoracic) • 4 APPs (3 PAs, 1 NP 1 in training) • Case volume: 6–8 cardiac cases/week | 9–12 thoracic cases/week ? Schedule & Call Expectations ? Weekdays: M–F, primarily 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (not shift-based; some days extend) Call: • 3–4 weekday calls per week • 1:4 weekend call rotation • Call days may run 10–12 hours • Weekend call: typically 6–8 hours/day • Pager coverage for 24 hours on call days Clinical Responsibilities ?? OR First Assist ?? Pre- & post-op patient management ?? ICU & step-down care ?? Coronary artery bypass & valve surgeries ?? Aortic & arch reconstruction ?? Robotic-assisted thoracic surgery (?90% of thoracic cases) ?? VATS & DaVinci thoracic procedures ?? Minimally invasive valve surgery ?? Endoscopic vein & open radial artery harvest ?? Thoracic & foregut procedures ?? Emergent floor procedures (chest tubes, arterial lines, etc.) ?? Daily rounds, discharge summaries ?? Weekend rounds & urgent/walk-in clinic coverage as needed Limited thoracic experience may be considered only if the APP is cardiac-focused or seeking transition to permanent employment. Compensation • Hourly: $210–$220 (no OT) ?? Travel Preferences Lodging ?? Air Travel Credentialing Details ?
