week) Location: Lynchburg, Campbell, Appomattox Position Summary
The Clinician LMHP/LMHP-E will assess the needs of individuals
referred to the program and use information obtained to develop and
implement appropriate treatment approaches and counseling support
services. These services include developing individual treatment
plans, conducting assessments, providing counseling services, and
educating individuals on available community resources. Required
Education and Experience Master's Degree from a program that
prepares individuals to practice counseling (60-hr Master's
Program) , which is offered by a college or university accredited
by a regional accrediting agency. (Re: 54.1-3500 of the Code of
Virginia) No experience required. Resident in Professional
Counseling, Supervisee in Clinical Social Work, Resident in
Licensed Marriage, Family Therapy, Resident in Substance Abuse
Treatment, or eligibility to apply for residency. Note: New hires
will be expected to apply for clinical supervision and residency
within 30 days of hire. Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of evidenced based practices to include but not limited
to; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); emergency interventions;
family, group, and individual therapies; psychosocial education;
risk assessments; sex offender treatment; substance abuse
interventions; etc.; knowledge of community mental health and
public health in order to provide advocacy and enhance an
individual’s treatment and access to community resources. Knowledge

techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health,
intellectual disabilities and substance abuse. Willing and
available to work modified schedules (weekends, holidays, etc.) as
required. Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver’s
license. May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite;
transport clients and provide services to clients at other
locations. Regular attendance at trainings and Horizon meetings may
